OVERVIEW: The Inventory and Demand Planner is responsible for supporting the Director of North American Distribution in managing the inventory across a range of products and locations, for a group of internal suppliers. This role will be focused on maximizing inventory availability and maintain optimal levels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze reporting for the purpose of obtaining sales history in order to evaluate prior sales, seasonal, and promotional trends in order to forecast inventory needs.
  • Coordinate data transfer between multiple systems.
  • Ensure that optimal levels of stock are maintained based on demand.
  • Ensure suppliers can fulfill the future sales expectations in all North America locations.
  • Escalate issues with suppliers to key stakeholders.
  • Re-allocate inventory in a timely manner to maximize turns and sell-thru.
  • Work with appropriate managers to ensure that correct strategies are applied across suppliers and products.
  • Use best practice to drive system, departmental and operational improvements.
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by management.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.   Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two year college or university and 3 to 5 years of related inventory demand experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred inventory, distribution, or supply chain management background.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • None required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Intermediate proficiency in ERP / MRP systems is required. Advanced experience with analytics and data interpretation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may occasionally stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
