OVERVIEW: The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving product in, inventory accuracy, material moving and rack location organization in accordance with established processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pull all material for production to restocking area as needed.
  • Read and understand work orders and instructions
  • Receive all incoming product and work with purchasing on any issues of incoming product.
  • Locate all incoming material to appropriate storage space
  • Maintain inventory accuracy at a high level
  • Perform regular cycle counts
  • Consolidate inventory as needed
  • Maintain the visual inventory processes we currently have in place for certain items.
  • Help load and unload trailers as needed in the shipping area.
  • Lead 5S and other Lean efforts within work area.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Ensure area is clean and organized.
  • Additional responsibilities as requested or required by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 2 to 3 years of shipping and receiving experience in warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

  • Forklift operation / safety certification

COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee may frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch during shift. Employee will be required to regularly sit, use hand to finger, handle, feel and reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position works in an environment with moderate noise levels.
